We have an exciting and meaningful event planned for our next installation of PechaKucha Night Indy. 20 seconds is all it took to destroy so many lives and dreams in Haiti. The Global PechaKucha family is coming together with Architecture for Humanity to help rebuild Haiti, 20 seconds at a time.

On Saturday, February 20th, we will join cities around the world in hosting PK Night in the Fountain Square neighborhood in Indianapolis. The costs of our event will be covered by the amazing sponsors listed below. We will have an admission fee of $20 per person, all of which will go to Architecture for Humanity for the rebuilding of Haiti. Cameron Sinclair and Architecture for Humanity won the TED prize 3 years ago and his organization was instrumental in getting projects built after the Indian Ocean Tsunami and hurricane Katrina.

Check out this video PK presentation by Mark Dytham and Cameron Sinclair for more information about PechaKucha for Haiti:

Globally, PechaKucha for Haiti will be considering ideas on the themes of Rebuilding, and we encourage presentations on this theme. Other ideas not related to Haiti and Rebuilding are also welcome. We invite you to submit an idea, concept, or project that needs to be seen by the best and brightest in Indianapolis. Capture the eyes and minds of dozens of smart (and possibly slightly inebriated) people. Compete with the bar for attention. Get your project recognized in the best network of doers this side of the Wabash River.

To submit an entry, please email a 250 word or less abstract of your presentation and up to 3 images (1mb or less) to submissions@pkindy.org by midnight, Tuesday February 9th. Selected presenters will be notified on Wednesday, February 10th. Powerpoint or Keynote slideshows will be due to PKindy by midnight Wednesday, February 17th.

After our great success with PKindy7, selling out 540 seats at the Toby Theatre and giving away $14,000 to community activists through the Spirit & Place festival, we are excited to continue the momentum found in our new partnerships. We are not competing for monetary award at this PK, but we encourage you to use PKindy as your soapbox, to shout your ideas over a slightly inebriated crowd, and to make Indianapolis a better place by doing so.
