Working from home in your pajamas without seeing anyone is a reality for many freelancers, and WorkInCompany wants to offer these people something different. This presentation covers the idea of sharing an office with others — or “co-working” — in Sevilla. It was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Sevilla Vol. 12, and is in Spanish.
We teased this a while back when we first shared the posters for Sao Paulo’s PechaKucha Night Vol. 10, but we are very happy to see that the typeface that Gustavo Garcia designed for use on the poster, “Peku,” has been released for free — you just pay with a tweet. It’s a really fun typeface, and we really hope to see it used in interesting places. We’ll also soon be sharing photos from that PKN Sao Paulo Vol. 10.
Here are a few photos from PechaKucha Night in Lausanne Vol. 8 — you’ll find all the presenters listed with links on the official event page — which organizer Cyril Veillon describes thusly: “Our PechaKucha #8 in Lausanne was on the topic of the schizophrenia. Great subject in fact. We had a powerful presentation by a rap musician who was schizophrenic. Very intense. And 2 doctors, 1 TV presenter, 2 architects, 1 dancer.” Please note that that PKN Lausanne Vol. 9 is happening tomorrow night (May 11) at Bellerive-Plage — all presenters are listed on the event page.

For the Creator/Artist/Designer/Maker/Leader it’s an on-going battle. It’s their need to constantly strive to push forward, change things, make things better…their addiction to experience the thrill of ‘that moment’ where they find the thing they have been searching for…and they just know it’s right! There’s no need to check with anyone else, they just feel it…that knowing…through-and-though, balls to bone!
In “Speculative Design,” Jessica Charlesworth shares with us various ideas and tools to help make decisions about our future. She works for public and private sector organizations, helping them explore the eventual implications of their field. The presentation was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Chicago Vol. 19.
Dimitris Rigopoulos is a journalist for the Greek daily newspaper Kathimerini, and in this presentation, he talks about why he likes the city of Athens so much. It was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Athens Vol. 3, and is in Greek.

Do you like magazines, or print culture in general? If so (and you’re in Tokyo), join us on Friday (May 11, 19:00-21:00, free entry) for a special PechaKucha event that will be part of the current Magazine Library exhibition, running until May 13 at Hillside Terrace in Daikanyama. The presenter lineup will include creators that are working in publishing or print and will include, among others, the co-founder of TOO MUCH (”the magazine of romantic geography”), Audrey Fondecave, the creator of the new Tokyo fashion magazine De Rigueur, Antonin Gaultier, Amsterdam-based editorial designer and art director Luis Mendo, Tokyo-based designer Ian Lynam, and Postalco’s Mike Abelson.
