Time to end the week with one more great example of the 20×20 format. “Ears,” a presentation by artist Tony Curran, was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Wagga Wagga Vol. 4.

Ears are unique to each individual person in shape and size. They are acoustic filters of the world around us and shape the character of the sounds we hear. This presentation looks at what was learned from an artist-in-residency project in Sydney, Australia, which involved drawing studies of 153 different people’s ears.

Salt Lake City is going to take part in our Global Cities Week, with its PechaKucha Night Vol. 7 happening on February 24 at The State Room. You’ll find plenty of details, along with the full list of presenters with links, on the official event page. The poster was designed by Thy Doan, of AIGA-Salt Lake City. Here’s also a very nice write-up on the city’s PKN series from 15 Bytes, “Utah’s Art Magazine.”

We shared the teaser video and poster for Quito’s PechaKucha Night Vol. 5 a while back, but here is a reminder that the city is indeed taking part in our Global Cities Week, with its event set for February 23 at Casa de Juan’s Café Sibarí. You can check the event page later, as it gets updated with presenters, and the final poster for the event will be revealed soon.

We’ve been sharing tons of posters these past few days for PechaKucha Nights that are part of our Global Cities Week, but please not that there are still regular PKNs happening thoughout the month, like this one in Skovde, Sweden. The city’s PKN Vol. 7 is set for February 29 at Restaurang Glädje. You’ll find the full list of presenters with links on the official event page.

The city of Vladimir in Russia is taking part in our Global Cities Week, with its PechaKucha Night Vol. 4 happening on February 22. You’ll find more details and the list of presenters (in Russian) on the official event page.

Huddersfield will be taking part in our Global Cities Week with a special PechaKucha Night (Vol. 6), a collaboration with Dirt Cheap Magazine. Below, more details from organizer Brent Woods. PechaKucha Night returns to Huddersfield for an evening of thinking and drinking – with a twist…

In this special edition, Dirt Cheap Magazine takeover PechaKucha Huddersfield to curate and present an eclectic night of presentations and live music from passionate local artists. A celebration of the hidden (and not so hidden) talents of Huddersfield.

Since 2008 Dirt Cheap Magazine has been supporting and showcasing the work of creative practitioners from Huddersfield and beyond through the publication of e-zines, magazines and blogs. They also organise Fresh Kids – regular live music and interactive art / graffiti nights in Huddersfield and Leeds.
