In “Maximalism,” designer Dan Christofferson takes us on a whirlwind tour of the works he’s produced over the years, framing it through his experience as a resident of Salt Lake City, and explaining how it has affected that work. The presentation was recorded at PechaKucha Night in Salt Lake City Vol. 7.

We shared with you photos from Salt Lake City’s Global Cities Week event (PechaKucha Night Vol. 7) a few days ago, and here’s also an interview with organizer Tristan Shepherd. The article is originally from the CityWeekly, but as we were having trouble loading the link, we’ve included the entire interview in this post.

Time to start sharing a lot of the photos and reports that we’ve been receiving from the recent Global Cities Week events, and here’s a look at Salt Lake City’s PechaKucha Night Vol. 7 — and there’s more to see in this Flickr photoset. As you can see, it was a fantastic turnout, and in a separate post we’ll be sharing some nice press that the event received. You’ll find the full list of presenters on the event page.

Salt Lake City is going to take part in our Global Cities Week, with its PechaKucha Night Vol. 7 happening on February 24 at The State Room. You’ll find plenty of details, along with the full list of presenters with links, on the official event page. The poster was designed by Thy Doan, of AIGA-Salt Lake City. Here’s also a very nice write-up on the city’s PKN series from 15 Bytes, “Utah’s Art Magazine.”

The Young Architects Forum in Salt Lake City is readying another special PechaKucha event, this time with the theme of “Life” — see the list of presenters on the poster above. It all happens October 21 from 19:00 at the Salt Lake Art Center.

PechaKucha Night in Salt Lake City Vol. 6 is set to happen October 29 at the Avocet Building, and you’ll find the full list of presenters with links on the official event page.
It’s so nice to see PechaKucha Night chosen as a staff pick in the Salt Lake City’s City Weekly — certainly the “Best Reason to Chit-Chat.” Big thanks to PKN Salt Lake City organizer Tristan Shepherd for sharing this with us.

Salt Lake City is one of the many cities that will participate in the Global PechaKucha Day – Inspire Japan event (on April 16), and here are some details on its event courtesy of organizer Tristan Shepherd.
Another PechaKucha night is upon us! This time it’s during the day and we’ll be taking donations to benefit Architecture for Humanity’s relief efforts in Japan! Donations can be made online, and we’ll be taking cash donations and checks at the door. Global PechaKucha Day – Inspire Japan will be held at Brewvies, April 16th. Presentations will kick-off around 14:30. Get there early and stay after for food and drinks! A huge thanks to Brewvies for supporting this with the use of one of their theaters. This allows us to make the event FREE, thereby maximizing our donations to Architecture for Humanity for Japan! While the event is free, due to the theater capacity, we recommend that you register for tickets, which can be done here.

The global PechaKucha Night city count continues to rise — we’re currently at the rather lovely number of 333 (oops, it never stops, make that 335) — and the latest addition, with its first event happening tonight, is Salt Lake City. The festivities will kick off at 19:00, and it all happens at the Salt Lake Art Center.
