Dominique Playoust

It’s with great sadness that we share with you news that PechaKucha Night in Paris organizer Dominique Playoust has passed away. Even though we had known Dominique was ill, the news came as a shock to us, and hit everyone at PechaKucha HQ very hard. Dominique had taken over as organizer two years ago, and he was very passionate about producing fantastic PechaKucha Nights, and that has always meant a lot to us. All our sympathies go out to his family and friends, and we also thank Paris team member Benoît Drouillat for sharing the news with us, and for offering to carry on the PKN torch in Paris.

The organizers behind PechaKucha Night in Paris put together another terrific video report for their latest edition (Vol. 9), held late last month. We’ll feature photos from the event later this week.

PKN Paris Vol. 8 Video Report

Following yesterday’s look at PechaKucha Night in Paris Vol. 8 through photos, here’s a terrific video report on the event, directed by Mathias Garnier. The interviews — in French — cover how each presenter tackled the PKN format.

PSSST!3 at PKN Paris Vol. 8

PSST!3

PechaKucha Night in Paris Vol. 8 is just around the corner (April 28), and that evening’s presentations will then be followed by a screening of the terrific PSST!3 collaborative film series. Can’t be there? Luckily for the rest of us, all of the 17 shorts from this year’s edition of the “exquisite corpse” inspired festival are also available for viewing online.
