Our final presentation from PechaKucha Night in Johannesburg Vol. 5 is a bit of an irreverent one — OK, maybe actually QUITE irreverent — with Zwai and Phillip sharing with us “Rebuilding, the African Way.” We hope it puts a smile on your face. You can see more presentation from Johannesburg in that city’s section of the “Presentations” area.
Continuing with our a look at a few presentations from PechaKucha Night in Johannesburg Vol. 5, here then is Brett Will who shows us how we should go about “Rebuilding a nation by embracing children.” Please take note that donations are still indeed being accepted for the “PechaKucha for Haiti” reconstruction efforts, and that you can donate directly to a presentation that moved you, or for a city — on that city’s respective PKN page — that you want to represent.
The organizers behind PechaKucha Night in Johannesburg love to release teaservideos before each event, and they’ve put together another one for the upcoming Vol. 4, with the theme of “What is beauty?” The event itself happens this Thursday (December 3) at Atlas Studios.
Last week’s PechaKucha Night in Johannesburg Vol. 3 was a great success, garnering “compliments throughout the day on a superb event with excellent presentations.” Organizer Mary Cassel-Faulks sends in a few photos from the event, and take note that the date for Vol. 4 has already been set: November 26.
We were big fans of the last video that Johannesburg put together before its first PechaKucha Night, and they’ve done it again with a great new “trailer” for Vol. 2, scheduled for July 2.
PechaKucha Night debuted in Johannesburg last night, and while we’ll have a report on the event soon, in the meantime here’s a fun video put together by the organizers, inviting a few locals to try and pronounce “PechaKucha,” and explain its meaning.
