This Is What a PKN in HK Is Like
February 27th, 2012
We just shared photos from last week’s PechaKucha Night in Hong Kong Vol. 10, and here’s some feedback that organizer Sonia Chow sent us, that we loved so much we felt like we had to share it here. If this doesn’t make you want to attend a PKN in HK, we don’t know what will.
- It was a fab night, totally unexpected! There is something I was hoping to see in HK, finally here it is! Well done!!
- Geraldine and I wanted to thank you for this amazing night yesterday! We really loved the spirit of this one and we believe it was a big creative bubble in all the event scene of Hong Kong! Thanks for organizing everything so well….that was amazing!
- A quick note to congratulate you on an excellent event last night – wow what a turnout on both the presenters and audience.
- Thanks again… was great fun and really refreshing to see all those creatives coming together!
- Great job last night. We are new to Hong Kong from US and it was great to see the creative energy.
- Whoa. Crazy packed in here. Massive turnout. Congrats to the organisers.

PKN Hong Kong Vol. 10
February 27th, 2012
A new organizer has recently taken over in Hong Kong — Sonia Chow, along with her studio partner Huschang Pourian — and the first PechaKucha Night of this new era was last week’s Vol. 10, part of the Global Cities Week. Here are a few photos from that event, with more to see in this Facebook gallery.
PKN Hong Kong Vol. 10 + Global Cities Week
February 2nd, 2012
Hong Kong will be taking part in the Global Cities Week, with its PechaKucha Night happening on February 21 at the XXX Gallery. You’ll find details on the poster and on this Facebook page, and the event will soon be added to the proper HK city page as well.
South China Morning Post Covers PKN Hong Kong
June 17th, 2009
PechaKucha Night in Hong Kong Vol. 5 happens tonight (June 17) at One Bar — have a look at the flyer — and it’s great to see that the event garnered some coverage in the days leading up to the latest edition in HK’s leading English newspaper, the South China Morning Post. We love this quote, from co-organizer Oriana Reich:
PechaKucha is part of an awakening that Hong Kong and the design community is having about the need to be more open and more willing to give different people an opportunity to share what they do. It’s a sign that people want to come out of the woodwork, that they sense there’s something going on. Hong Kong has some pretty exceptional talent. It deserves a PechaKucha.
