Last week Jesper Larsson, PechaKucha ambassador of Gothenburg traveled to Stockholm together with “struktör” David Stiernholm to arrange a PechaKucha workshop with the Swedish Police.
The participants from the Swedish National Police Board were first given an introduction lecture about PechaKucha and the 20×20 format, along with tips and ideas on how to find images – legally of course – and how to go about creating and preparing a presentation.

They then had only an hour to prepare their own presentations on subjects relating to their respective work, after which the presentations were presented to the entire group.

Despite the short time frame we got to experience thoughtful, creative, useful and fun presentations. This both showed how much a group of committed people are able to do in only an hour, as well as the power of the 20×20 format.
And the participants were also happy about the workshop. In a follow-up email our contact person wrote: “Many of us got really inspired by the PechaKucha workshop. A colleague went straight home and remade two presentations she was giving the following week.”
Bonus: After the workshop we also got to check out the police archive with old police cars and equipment.

An old Porsche 911 police car.

A promotional poster for the Sig Sauer pistol used by the Swedish police.

Old ballistics test looking like contemporary pop art

Some sort of functional fashion piece that had something to do with handling lead.
