As we mentioned in that previous post about PechaKucha Night in Barcelona Vol. 14, it was the last edition for organizer Petz Scholtus (again, pictured above, in a photo by Benjamin Julve), and she sends in the following goodbye message to the PechaKucha community:
I just want to send out a huge thank you to everyone who made PechaKucha Barcelona what it is today. It has been an incredible adventure to set up and run PKN in the Catalan Capital with the support of my friends, the over 170 presenters, fans, and our audience. I had a lot of fun, met amazing people and have seen curious things in the 3 years of PKN BCN. Mark, Astrid, Jean and everyone else at PK headquarters were incredible to work with, as were Sergio Carratalá, Ernest Vidal, Benjamin Julve, Ricardo Ferraz, Aurora Portillo, Aniol Esquerra, Nayely González and Marjolein Hendrix in Barcelona. Together we did over 14 nights since July 2008 when it all started here. Also on board since the beginning was our local beer, Estrella Damm, whose Antigua Fábrica has somewhat become the house of PechaKucha in Barcelona.
They say that all good things must end (I am hoping to present my new project to you in a PKN next year) and so I decided to pass on PKN BCN to the hyperactiveee Marc Morro, known as the guy behind Surtido and the Gallery Otras Cosas. I am very pleased to leave it in Marc’s hands and am looking forward to the events next year.
Fins aviat,
