Communicator of the Year in Gothenburg

Communicator of the Year in Gothenburg

Last week our main man in Gothenburg, Jesper Larsson, was awarded a golden cow and the title of “Communicator of the Year” by The Market Association of Gothenburg (MiG). He received the award mainly because of his work with PechaKucha Göteborg over the past five years, but also as a founder of Creators Inn, the world’s first free hotel for creators.

Instead of an acceptance speech Jesper asked to do a PechaKucha presentation, but since he was only allowed a total of 120 seconds of stage time, he did an even quicker version. Using the 28 slides above he talked about himself, about how Astrid and Mark started PechaKucha Night at Superdeluxe, about the format and how it has since spread all over the world, about how he brought the concept to Gothenburg in 2006, including statistics about the events in Gothenburg, and then he thanked over 300 people, including the local PKN project team, the partners and all former speakers – all in 120 seconds! If you want to know how it was done you can download the PowerPoint presentation (for a limited time only) with speaker notes in Swedish.

Here is an unrelated picture where Jesper wrestles Dolph Lundgren, aka He-Man.

The next PechaKucha Night in Gothenburg (Vol. 28) is Tuesday of next week (October 18) at Blå Stället in Angered — once a year the series moves from the city to a suburb of Gothenburg in order to find new speakers and audience.
