PechaKucha Night has unfortunately been missing from Singapore for a few years now, but we just found this photo on Flickr taken at the city’s Vol. 2 back in 2008 — by Flickr user recyclofashion — and it looks like they took the 20 seconds very seriously, going so far as to adding a giant timer on the stage to remind the presenters and audience alike how much time they had left.

When is the next Singapore PechaKucha night?
Well, as I wrote in the post, there is currently no ongoing series happening in Singapore. I’m not quite sure why the previous organizers ended up not continuing, but we’d certainly love to see PKN start again there.
A presenter from the Singapore volume did a crossover presentation during Kuala Lumpur’s PKN #09.
Nice to see that kind of crossover happen! We’ve seen it in other cities as well.
I want to restart the PechaKucha experience in Singapore. Do you think people will be interested in a platform like this?
Hi Michael! I would think there’s a huge audience in Singapore for a PKN — it feels like such a creative city, and I know it also hosts a lot of design-related conferences. If you’re really interested, please get in touch at the following address, and I can explain more about what it would take it to start it up.

I am planning a large urban design and architecture event for November this year to coincide with the Singapore Design Festival. It will encompass talks, workshops, a forum and a festival showcase of architectural projection mapping.
I’d be very interested to help revive Pecha Kucha Singapore.
Please keep me in the loop with plans!

Kay, I will get in touch with you by email!
Michael, Kay, Jean,
I just moved from Silcon Valley to Singapore, and would love to help resuscitate the Pecha Kucha Nights. I may have a venue downtown for this, if this may help, that could accomodate a mid-size audience comfortably.
Hit me up with an email.
Cheers,
Frederic
Thanks for the offer, Frederic! We actually had a few people interested once I posted this, and we have handed over stewardship to someone (Michael Foong). So PKN should be back in Singapore soon!
Hi Kay, Frederic,
Would love to get you guys involved. Could you guys send me an email as to how i would be able to contact you guys? My email is mikefoong [at] yahoo dot com.
Regards
Michael
I’m so excited to hear that you guys are going to bring a PKN to Singapore once more. I will keep checking the site so I can pass the word on.
It sure is exciting, and I’m personally very happy that this little post on the blog helped get things going. Here’s to a great year of PKNs in Singapore!
Count me in!
is the event being currently planned by any chance?
Hi Mike,
any PKN on the schedule so far?!
Hi Jean, great to talk to you from this end of the world ; )
I was just wondering what the latest is on PKN Singpaore because i would be happy to jump on board ! I just moved here from Tokyo, where I was sort of involved with the PKN so I would be happy to get in touch with people interested!
Best,
Naomi
