We were very happy to see some PechaKucha love shown on the Architecture for Humanity Chicago website, first with the appearance of Katherine Darnstadt’s presentation “Design Like You Give a Damn,” from PechaKucha Night in Chicago Vol. 12 — you do know that you can embed PK presentations, right? And as organizer Peter Exley points out, the “Street Furniture Competition” entries include a few PKN Chicago vets, notably Joseph Altshuler (Vol. 13) and Eylül Wintermeyer (Vol. 9). “Chicago fans will remember Eylül’s megalomaniacal wine vessel and bread maker that sustained thousands in New York, Joseph looking through Alfred Hitchcock’s Rear Window into the lives of his Chicago neighbors, and Katherine eating dirt, literally.” If you’re in Chicago, you won’t want to miss the next volume.
