PechaKucha Night in Nagano Vol. 11 happens this Sunday, but here’s a look at Vol. 10 — held earlier this month — with a report from PKN Nagano team member NanaAkua.
Are there any other cities that have a PKN on “tatami” (traditional type of Japanese flooring) and comes with a ticket for the onsen (hot spring)? We held PKN Nagano at “Katakura-kan” in the city of Suwa in the Nagano prefecture on November 8th. It was co-hosted by Zoola and Nagano Creators’ Network.

Katakura-kan was completed in 1928. It is equipped with a large bathroom called “Sennin Buro (1000 person bath),” and it is the oldest hot spring facility in Japan.

We relaxed and enjoyed PKN with locally-brewed Sake on tatami, after taking a bath.

Vol. 10 started with our special guest presenters Tomoko Kagawa and Emi Takahashi from Klein Dytham architecture.

He is the mayor of Suwa city. He talked about honey bees, but maybe it was not only about the bees. To live as a male is sometimes filled with sorrow, not sweet as honey. But the male never give up!!!

For the other presenters of the 10th edition, there are more photos in the PKN Nagano Flickr group pool.
