On the road at the A+DEN conference 6/20/2008

Hello Visitor,

Special Pecha Kucha Night Chicago Event at A+DEN Conference - June 20

Pecha Kucha Night Chicago Volume 5 was fabulous - we hope you made it. Some called it "a truly amazing evening", "super fun", and "a rare treat". Tickets for Volume 6 on September 2 go on sale next week. Already, there are presenters waiting in the wings; if you are interested in taking that plunge, let us know now via the link at http://www.pecha-kucha.org/cities/chicago. You can sign up for our newsletter there too. Thanks for doing that, and for spreading the word.

If September 2 seems a long way off, we are getting on the PKN tour bus and heading down to the A+DEN conference next week, at the Chicago Architecture Foundation. Some familiar faces will be in attendance, and if you missed Thorsten Bösch's road trip presentation the first time, this could be your chance to make amends. For details on the conference, go to http://www.adenweb.org/conference2008

Other special events are percolating, watch this space, and keep the ideas coming.

This from Krisann Rehbein (PKN Chicago Volume 2 alumni), conference organizer: I would like to invite you to join us for A+DEN 2008 in Chicago on June 20 - 21. The Architecture + Design Education Network (A+DEN) helps design educators in not-for-profits, museums and classroom settings network, share best practices and learn new ideas. The conference would give you the opportunity to meet individuals you can partner with in the future and get new ideas for activities and programs.

The 2008 A+DEN Conference promises to be an enriching networking opportunity where you can recharge and learn new skills. The two-day format will feature a special, design educator's version of Pecha Kucha Night Event. Participants will have the opportunity to present their work in this fast-paced, engaging format of 20 slides at 20 seconds each.

Several leading K-12 design curriculum producers will discuss the process of creating, implementing and evaluating their materials. Panelists will include representatives from the Chicago Architecture Foundation, National Building Museum, NEXT and Kent State University. A second panel will feature architects who design schools to discuss what the current thinking is on innovative educational space.

Please let me know if you plan to attend. Krisann Rehbein
